What is so unique about the Israeli Paralympic outfit?
For the first time the Paralympic outfit was created in collaboration with the athletes.
It was designed whilst considering each athlete’s different impairments, making it the first inclusively designed outfit for Paralympians.
About the design
Special angled pockets making the access sitting down or standing up easier.
Easy closure snap buttons for those with dexterity issues.
Elastic element on waistband for comfortable movements. Easy to pull on and off.
Zips on leg cuffs, so that one can easily wear trousers with prosthesis on or mobility restraints.
Extra width on the arm sleeve to easily enter the arm in different angles.
Why is inclusive design important?
Inclusive design is the key to ensuring no one gets left behind in our increasingly digital society, and it’s more pertinent now than ever before.
Inclusive design involves developing products, services or environments so as many people as possible can access and use them.
Since fashion is a way of expression if we could all wear what fits our needs and we feel comfortable in.
